A 4-H group from Clifton, IL visited the farm on June 10th with 15 children and 5 adults. Carolynne Saffer took them on a tour of the farm, focused on the history and production at the farm - then and now. Although they enjoyed the tour, they wanted to get their hands dirty! She wanted to take them out and visit the American Guinea Hogs for some hands-on pig chores, but unfortunately, we the pigs were in their mobile pens somewhere on the farm but so hidden in the very tall grass (it’s been raining here so much - it’s just growing wildly) that we had to plan that for another day. We hope to see this group again in either the spring for maple sap tapping help or next summer for some farm chores.
