Carolynne Saffer spoke to 52 parents and children at a 4 H meeting in Forrest, IL on May 6th and her focus was on community service and our potato garden. The garden project is moving forward, as we are partnering with Prairie Central Junior High and several teachers there at the school. We challenged the 4 H kids to devote their community service hours to the potato project, which is focused on raising potatoes for the local food pantries, Midwest Food Bank and Prairie Central Community-Based Education Classes.
