Sustainable Agriculture in Action

After the fall 2011 Chef Camp, many of the participants were so energized by the event they started meeting informally and discussed the possibility of working together to raise awareness and funds for programs related to sustainable agriculture.  The “Ground Up” group started with a nucleus of the Chef Camp participants but flourished to encompass many Chicago chefs.

In April, they held a fundraiser which raised nearly $2500 to benefit groups and programs that educate farmers, children and the public about where food comes from, sustainability and agriculture and also help build an empowered community from the “Ground Up”.
